“Elect Her” Workshop for HS/College Women

March 6, 2020

12:00 am

Women make up half the population yet represent less than a quarter of elected offices in the United States.  When women run, they win as often as men; the challenge is that there are not enough women running for public office.

“Elect Her” is a half-day workshop aimed at encouraging and training HS and college age women on how they can run for elected positions, beginning with those in student government.  Participants discuss the importance of women’s involvement, explore issues meaningful to them, map out support networks, prepare and practice elevator speeches, learn about campaign strategy, meet role models within their community, and plan how they can be more involved in civic leadership.

This event is open to all HS and college age students.
