Wayne County’s bold leadership in winning women the right to vote was evident when Wayne County established the first Indiana Women’s Rights Convention, one of the earliest in the country, in Dublin IN in 1851 and continued until suffrage ratification in 1920. Courageous women and men throughout Wayne County never gave up the fight to win women their essential right to vote.
